4 White Horses SOLD

A player named Joschua has become the first player to purchase horses at New Festival Cove’s animal selling area!

After buying the horses, he forgot to return the copper keys, but he later returned the copper keys without us even knowing who the initial buyer was. We later found out Joschua was the buyer after meeting him in Local chat.

We sincerely appreciate Joschua buying some horses and returning the copper keys!

Congratulations, Joschua!

Hay There! How To Turn Grass Into Hay !!!

In this post, I’m going to show you how to turn grass into Hay.

Activate (double left-click) a Scythe, and use (right-click) it on a grass tile that has a longer-growth rate than short (eg. medium, tall, wild), and left-click on “Cut Grass”. When you mouseover the tile, you will get: “Cut Grass (Hay, wet, untedded).”

After you cut the grass with a Scythe, you’ll see a bunch of random grasses around a tile… That’s OK… just leave it like that and wait.

After you cut the grass, it will say something like (Hay, wet, untedded) or (Hay, damp, untedded). If you see an “untedded” tile, activate (double left-click) a Pitchfork, and right-click the tile and Farm it.

For those without a Pitchfork, create a pitchfork fork (small anvil and hot iron lump) and combine it with a Shaft (carving knife on a log), in order to make a Pitchfork.

This is what you will see after you tend a farm using a Pitchfork. Instead of random clumps, you will see Hay forming into straight lines.

If the tile says, “(hay, damp, untedded)”, you must use a rake, to ted it.

Activate a Sickle or Scythe, and Harvest the tile when it says, “(Hay, dried, untedded)”.

Kudos to: Lianya and Thicket for helping me make this post happen! We simply try things out, and we try to make things work!

Animal Vending

Pen 13 will be relocated to our Haunted House, while Pen 15 will always contain a male horse!

We’re having quite a lot of fun designing our first animal vending area at New Festival Cove! We’re not sure when we’ll be ready to sell animals, but we’ve decided that Pen 13 should probably not be used. We don’t want to unleash bad luck onto an unsuspecting customer – it’s the same reason hotel operators don’t have the 13th floor on their elevators.

Instead, we’ve decided that Pen 13 should be put inside our Haunted House. We’ll put that one on the TODO list. 🙂

Alliance members recommended I remove “Pen 15”…. I admit, it took me a minute to grasp that penis joke… HAHAHA, but I say we just keep a male animal there for sale all the time!

We’re not out to make a killing on this animal vending endeavor. Animals will be sold for a very nominal fee. We just need a way to continue breeding and maintaining younger animals through the system. It always sucks when one takes a break, and ends up having 1 horse gender and missing the other in order to breed it easily. So, by raising our stable/pen numbers, hopefully, this fixes this. BOTTOM LINE: Players taking extended breaks can get back by acquiring animals and 5+ speed horses cheaply.

We will continue and upgrade our Village Policy of free high-performance animals to Village (same policy) and Alliance members (I’m upgrading the unwritten policy to a formal one, as written herein). We are in the Azure Alliance. The capital is Llama City. The alliance consists of: Athas, Athas Farm Annex, Athas South, Azure, Azure Shores, Baycity, Bears And Wolves, Bela Areo, Blaue Trauben, Blue Water Landing, Bram Sky, Catspaw Keep, Dragon’s Landing, Fallen Oaks, Ghost Town, Gokstad, Golden Pearls Vineyard, Haven Market Docks, Hejme For De Hejmo, Iceland, Indigo Forest, Lianya’s Garden, Llama City, Llama Port, Llamas By The Sea, Lochall, Lothlorien Meadows, New Festival Cove, Oceania Terraces At Fairview, Pcg Freedom Village, Pest Harbour, Pli Kaj Pli, Plymouth Harbor, Port Alliance, Ravenhold, Salem, Samling Pass, Sherwood and Terrapin Station.

We also have a free animal policy to Everyone that wants an animal from “Leftover Ranch“. These are less-than-desireable animals, but everyone needs a friend, and it would be nice if all of these animals would find a home. 🙂 Contact Mayor Vooch if you would like one or more of these animals.

New Festival Cove is located at O16 on the in-game Independence map.

Stay safe, and thirsty, my friends!

Lava Fiend Climbs Ladder Attacks Priests

On October 25th, a Lava Fiend appeared in the Fighting Arena, found the closest ladder, climbed six floors, then proceeded to enter the Whitelighter enchanting room (NE imping building 3rd floor) and began attacking the priests.

Local defense forces showed up to thwart the attack by killing said Lava Fiend.

A security hole was found after Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Subsequently, six gates and locks were installed between the Fighting Arena and Imping Buildings to prevent reoccurrence. People can pass through these gates freely, but Lava Fiends and Trolls cannot.

Village citizens and guests rejoiced!

Haunted House Opens

On October 15, 2020, the New Festival Cove Haunted House opened to the public.

The coolest thing about the Haunted House is that it contains an audio track so people can listen to an audio tour while they walk through the House.

Be sure to read the Large Signs at the Entrance very carefully, as they will provide you the best experience.

Archaeologist Darrelbeaugez Discovers the Original Festival Cove Area Extended into the Nearby Mine Area

Darrelbeaugez, a 92-level archaeologist visited New Festival Cove this past weekend.

During his visit, he discovered that the original Festival Cove area extended into the nearby mine.

Mayor Vooch, the new Mayor of the area was in disbelief as there were not enough visible signs upon arrival to confirm that, so he asked Willow, a former Mayor of the area.

Willow said, “yeah the deed extended into the mine.”

Mayor Vooch responded with, “wow, that’s cool he discovered that! I had no idea”.
